Celebrate Women’s Day in style – try our perfectly elegant lunch ideas.

As experienced and passionate foodies, we love a good celebration! When it comes to office, Women’s Day is the perfect excuse (if you need one) to celebrate all the lovely ladies that add so much to your every day work environment.

Planning a Women’s Day lunch? Be inspired by our sophisticated but surprisingly simple lunch time ideas.

Treat the ladies at the office to:

1. Food that really matters

If the women in your office are true foodies or health-conscious individuals, offering them greasy takeaways or standard cocktail platter fare as lunch (instead of what they might have packed for themselves) simply won’t do. Try a cheese platter, homemade soups and health bread for a chilly day, or fresh salad combos, from chicken and pecan to strawberry and cranberry. Tea sandwiches (with homemade, artisanal breads) and quiches are always a good choice for something delish and filling. End the meal with miniature cakes, tartlets, or dark chocolate pots. And it can all be elegantly presented in the form of a high tea, either serve-yourself or dished out by hired staff. Serve up this yummy lunch experience with teas and coffees in delicate cups and you’re good to go.

2. Desk lunches with a difference

Your staff might be too busy to have lunch outside the office this year or even to take a long lunch break. While that’s a pity, it is possible to work around a ‘working lunch’. Don’t resort to takeaways from a fast food outlet for the actual food but borrow the idea. Put together fresh and fun bento boxes for each woman in your office. Try salads, noodles, or wraps. And don’t forget some sweet finger treats like mini monogrammed cakes or bespoke cookies with a special message. Keep things classy (and clean) with cloth napkins and silver cutlery. Deliver a box to each ladies’ desk at lunch time and invite them to take a quick break (even if it is gathering together at a desk) to eat up.

3. Add some fun

Why not make your lunch a real treat and add some girl-power entertainment? Bring out the projector and set up a conference room or pause area as a mini movie theatre to show a film that celebrates powerful women. No stale popcorn and boring chocolate bars here! Think mini boxes of flavoured popcorn, champagne (or virgin cocktails), sweet treats, and catering platters filled with cinema-friendly delights. Make sure it’s an elegant affair with a menu that speaks to the film and the audience.
