Father’s Day is this month and we just love a good family celebration – especially when we can make it (to some degree) about the food.
Looking for ways to celebrate your Dad this Father’s Day? Does he love the art of food? There are plenty of ways to celebrate Father’s Day with food. Here are our ideas for making this Father’s Day one to remember.
Four ways to celebrate your dad this Father’s Day
1. Breakfast in bed
If your dad is one of those hard workers who’s always up and about early (and has been the one to make you breakfast for years), it’s time to let him have a lie-in. Spoil him with breakfast in bed. Serve up an omelette or go for a full savoury spread of toast, eggs, bacon, mushroom, and tomato. Or, keep things sweet and simple with waffles with strawberries and cream or cinnamon rolls and preserves. If your dad would rather eat at the table, get his favourite brekkie all ready and waiting – then just sit together and enjoy a yummy start to the day.
2. Some sweet appreciation
Foods and gift platters make great Father’s Day gifts – easy to plan and a foodie-perfect way to say ‘thanks for being my dad’. Make him a great card and wrap up treats and snacks like homemade fudge, brownies, nut clusters, or biltong to add to his gift.
3. Dinner with all the trimmings
Spoil your Dad with a three course, man-sized meal, including all his favourites. If he loves to cook, make it a team effort and get in some great bonding time as you put together a family meal. Or don’t let your dad lift a finger and get it all done on your own steam. And don’t forget to clean up afterwards!
4. Get your foodie on
If your dad loves food and cooking, find a cooking class or wine pairing course and spoil him by signing you both up. This is a great way to celebrate Father's Day because you get to learn something new, enjoy something your Dad loves, and get quality father-daughter/son time.
